Type 1 Plug
The Type 1 (SAE J1772) is a single-phase plug capable of charging up to 7.4kW. It’s commonly used with American and Asian EV models. An adapter is required to connect to a European Type 2 charging cable.
Type 2 Plug
The Type 2 (IEC 62196) is the standard plug across Europe. Most European EVs are equipped with this socket. It supports charging up to 22kW and is available in single- or three-phase versions.
Schuko Plug
Some electric vehicles, such as scooters, use chargers with a Schuko plug. To charge these from a Type 2 socket, an appropriate adapter is necessary.
For portable or domestic charging, there are two main options:
Type 1 or Type 2 with Schuko Plug
